Common questions
How quickly do I need to report a residential property sale?
UK residents who sell a UK residential property with Capital Gains Tax to pay usually need to report and pay within 60 days of completion, using HMRC’s online service. Talk to Anewthing before completion if you can.
Do I pay Capital Gains Tax when I sell my home?
Usually not, if it has been your only or main residence throughout your ownership. Letting it out, using part of it exclusively for business, or a very large garden can change that.
